My research tracks three linked breakdowns: deepfakes outrunning verification, institutions losing credibility faster than they can respond, and publics retreating into “nothing is real.” I translate these findings into practical guidance for leaders: how to strengthen verification, communicate uncertainty without eroding legitimacy, and build governance that can withstand machine-generated deception at scale.
